On Friday December 26, 2015, Cliff and I decided to drive to River Ranch, Florida and check out where we were planning on staying for the next 3 months. We drove through Clermont, Florida and found it to be a beautiful town with a large body of water in the middle. We tried to have brunch at Cheeser’s Palace Cafe, downtown, but they were closed. So we went to Keke’s Breakfast Cafe. Pretty good for a chain.
Then off to River Ranch. We were really excited to see the place. We took Hwy 27 down to Lake Wales, then Hwy 60 East, 25 miles, to River Ranch. It was a big place and seemed to have a lot of activities for anyone staying at the Westgate Resort. We knew what site was ours, so we drove around until we found it. It looked just like the pictures, but the roads were kind of tight.
We went back to the main area and found the post office, the exercise room, the general store and the laundry facility. It had 2 washers and 2 dryers for over 500 sites. Oh my, how is that going to work?
We never did find the shuffleboard courts and we were 30 minutes to closest Walmart. Oh my, how is that going to work??
We came back to Bushnell disappointed. We talked to the girls in the office at Blueberry Hill and were able to secure a place here until April 1st. (After a few days of nervous waiting) Site F-10 in the front section, on the far side away from Walmart. More walking involved to get there, which is good exercise.
The man we were going to rent from in River Ranch was as disappointed as we were, but we decided Blueberry Hill RV Resort is the place for us.
Bingo on Mondays and Thursdays. I have only played twice and I thought I had won.
You had to fill the whole ticket and get the one with the star. I am not sure how I didn’t win. Oh well, it was fun.
This has been in the front yard since the day before the Music City Bowl. Not finding many fans down here.
I saw this when Sandy and I went shopping. I really like it, but have no place to put it, so I am putting it on the blog so that I can go back and look at it anytime I want to.
This is the covered carport at our new site F-10. We moved on Friday Jan.1st, which I will cover later.
So we got the TV set up outside and the fire pit going. We are ready for NFL football and the college basketball season.
Glad you are all settled until April, I would have been anxious too! It is cold, cold in Nashville today but the sun is shining! Hey to Cliff! Like your signs!
